Michael,

We previously add a tool to do that: kernel-picker. Unfortunately, some 
developers thought the tool was useless and just deleted it without any 
discussion with other developers. So i am not supporting oscar-5.x but i think 
that OSCAR does not provide a tool to do what you describe.

Also note that a ticket is open (2 years old ticket) but i do not know anyone 
how has the time to work on that specific point:

Hello,

I'm installing additional nodes (Intel i7's) to my cluster (FC5, 
Oscar5.0) and some of the hardware is not supported by the FC5 kernel. 
Is it possible to install with a newer kernel that DOES support the 
hardware w/o an OS upgrade (already tried that and it was nearly 
catastrophic).

I've not been able to find any previous posts regarding this issue but 
if there are links, please post them!
