Michael, We previously add a tool to do that: kernel-picker. Unfortunately, some developers thought the tool was useless and just deleted it without any discussion with other developers. So i am not supporting oscar-5.x but i think that OSCAR does not provide a tool to do what you describe.
Also note that a ticket is open (2 years old ticket) but i do not know anyone how has the time to work on that specific point: https://svn.oscar.openclustergroup.org/trac/oscar/ticket/291 Sorry, ----- Mail Original ----- De: "Michael Long" <ms...@virginia.edu> À: oscar-users@lists.sourceforge.net Envoyé: Samedi 30 Mai 2009 14h46:06 GMT -05:00 USA/Canada - États de l'Est Objet: [Oscar-users] Compute Nodes with newer, unsupported Hardware Hello, I'm installing additional nodes (Intel i7's) to my cluster (FC5, Oscar5.0) and some of the hardware is not supported by the FC5 kernel. Is it possible to install with a newer kernel that DOES support the hardware w/o an OS upgrade (already tried that and it was nearly catastrophic). I've not been able to find any previous posts regarding this issue but if there are links, please post them! Thanks!
