You are actually right! my analysis was completely wrong since the script is 
not part of systemimager but part of systeminstaller.
I opened a ticket: http://svn.oscar.openclustergroup.org/trac/oscar/ticket/559

I will also have a look at the doc, just to be sure that everything is fine.
