I am attempting to install Oscar 6.0.5-1 on Rhel 5.5 and continuously run into
the same errors. The Oscar packages install correctly however when running
oscar-config --bootstrap , it can't workout the format of the repos. A local
copy of Rhel 5.5 rpms has been created in /tftpboot/distro/redhat-el-5-x86_64
and packman run over this directory which oscar-config picks up so it seems to
only have problems with the online repo.
The basic steps followed for installation are:
1. install and basic configuration of Rhel, including networking two
interfaces eth0 for public network and bond0 for cluster network
2. update yum to include oscar repositories
3. install oscar and other required rpms
4. copied all Rhel 5.5 rpms from dvd to /tftpboot/distro/redhat-el-5-x86_64
and run packman on this directory
5. run oscar-config --setup-distro redhat-el-5-x86_64 this does setup the
required directories
6. run oscar-config --bootstrap and received the errors list in the attached
copy of the bootstrap.log
7. as I have run this a number of times, I have run oscar-config --startover
to clean up the install
8. I have also reinstalled Rhel a number of time just in case this was the
problem
9. I have monitored the network traffic and the server does communicate with
the repo, and receives an answer
10. the server can browse to the required web site and download rpms if
required.
Updates to Rhel have been done at different stages of the installation/build
and this hasn't made any difference. Has anybody come across this problem
before and/or know a solution to getting Oscar working on Rhel 5.5. I have look
at the mailing list and though the error is listed there is not published
solution.
