Hello Opensource.com friends, This is your weekly snapshot from Opensource.com. It's a chance to review some of the metrics that our team tracks.
We had a great week, in large part to Robin Isard's "4 words to avoid when negotiating the use of open source at your job" post getting picked up on Slashdot, but we also saw a ton of traffic to Gina Likins' post about the Pearl Hacks hackathon... which I promoted like crazy the previous week and didn't see a lot of traction... just goes to show that persistence paired with a compelling story usually pays off. Thanks again for all the awesome work you all submit to Opensource.com. We're heading into the second half of our Open Government Week, so thanks in advance for sharing your favorite content on Google+, Hackernews, Reddit, Twitter, Digg, identi.ca, Facebook, Slashdot, and many other places! == From 5/10 - 5/16 == Page Views: 95,175 (previous week 86,221) New registered users: 52 (previous week 75) Comments: 83 (previous week 41) Twitter: 17,708 (+157) Facebook: 62,609 (+1,371) Google+: 1,201 (+16) *Top 5 posts* (page views) 1) 4 words to avoid when negotiating the use of open source at your job (12,008) http://opensource.com/business/14/5/negotiate-open-source-on-the-job 2) Top 5 open source project management tools in 2014 (10,283) http://opensource.com/business/14/1/top-project-management-tools-2014 3) How a hacker slumber party gets girls into code (3,705) http://opensource.com/education/14/5/pearl-hacks-women-code 4) 7 open source tools and free resources for writing (3,359) http://opensource.com/life/14/5/seven-open-source-tools-writing 5) 7 favorite Raspberry Pi projects (2,260) http://opensource.com/life/14/3/favorite-raspberry-pi-projects _______________________________________________ Sign-up for our weekly newsletter: http://opensource.com/email-newsletter Osdc-list mailing list [email protected] https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/osdc-list
