let's look at the priorities first:

   1. osdc.my still in progress on registration as a formal organisation (it
takes a lot of time). so long as it is not registered we cant open a bank
account and start collecting money to organise stuff. our apologies but this
process really do take time on the part of the registrar of societies. the
pro-term members have responded to the queries from the registrar promptly.
   2. as osdc.my is not formalised yet, all things are currently being done
on voluntary basis. many thanks to the people who have voluntary started and
   done some of the stuff.
   3. the conference is something that must be done, not withstanding that
we still have not got all organisational matters in place yet, as we would
have liked. again this is all on voluntary basis.
   4. with regards to the virtual/cyber platform for malaysian developers.
more thought and work needs to be done on this. the documentation wiki is a
start while some of us (that includes me) how to fit in when we already have
our own blogs, forums, wikis and repositories.
   5. since the aim is to have world class developers, there needs to be a
balance in 'glokal' - global enough to be noticed by the world, and yet
accessible for local developers as a path to the global stage. there are a
few good malaysian led projects : adempiere and jstock that can quickly get
you involved on a global scale. there are lots other international projects,
but having the opportunity to sit down teh tarik with the core team members
of the project is great !

so my advice for the aspiring developers, start with number 5 and try to add
some stuff for number 4, and osdc.my will try our hardest to catch up with
you guys.

have fun guys ;-)

// rafe, how do my team contact this dili guy ? we called the number he left
but kept getting into auto-response. this is poor service - and we are a msc
status company. macamana ni ? kalau msc company pun dapat layanan macam ini,
macamana pulak the other non-msc open source developers ?
