Dear Valued Customers, In preparation to implement DNSSEC for .my domain names by Q4 2010, .my DOMAIN REGISTRY has opened a DNSSEC Public Trial to allow the public to test out DNSSEC. It is also an opportunity for DNS administrators and cache server administrator to test out the how-to of DNSSEC implementation. DNSSEC stands for Domain Name System Security Extensions (DNSSEC). It is a suite of Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) specifications for securing certain kinds of information provided by the Domain Name System (DNS) as used on Internet Protocol (IP) networks. It is a set of extensions to DNS which provide to DNS clients (resolvers) origin authentication of DNS data, authenticated denial of existence, and data integrity, but not availability or confidentiality. We would like to invite you to try out the DNSSEC Public Trial. It is open to everyone and there is no charge involved when you register a domain. The domain that you register will not interfere with the domain names you currently own as it belongs to a separate DNS hierarchy. But this would also mean that you would not be able to access those names you have registered unless you use the cache server specified on the main page of the Public Trial (http://testbed.dnssec.my). How do you participate in this Public Trial? Follow the steps below: 1. Register a domain with DNSSEC enable at http://testbed.dnssec.my. 2. Wait for the approval of the domain (email) 3. Setup a test authoritative DNS for the domain 4. Sign your domain 5. Login to and update DNSSEC's Keys information 6. Submit your domain DS key to parent 7. Verify domain DNSSEC by using the Dig and Drill command (the tool can be found at http://www.dnssec.my) The .my DNSSEC Public Trial will end on the 16th of May 2010.
