hello OSDC.MY mailing list, this is a reply with regards to Software Freedom Day (SFD) KL which is tentatively scheduled on 19th of September 2010 at HackerspaceKL.
Currently HackerspaceKL is running UNIX-g33ks, a series of sessions aimed to expose and educate people on the UNIX environment with emphasis on FreeBSD, for personal and enterprise development. This session is being conducted by Mr Suresh Ramasamy, an esteemed member of HackerspaceKL assisted by its members. Tentatively the date coincides with the 1st session of the 2nd part of the series, FreeBSD essentials, focusing on FreeBSD centric uses and functionality. As I have spoken to swee meng on the 25th of this month, we can accommodate SFD at that date provided but nevertheless I would require that whom ever that is helping swee meng run SFD KL to adhere to the following conditions:- 1) Activities proposed by SFD KL will not spill over into the UNIX- g33ks session period which will run tentatively from 1.30pm - 3.30 pm. 2) A clear and defined schedule of speakers and their talks/activity would not infringe any of the prohibitions as specified in Clause 16, Paragraph 5(a), Points 1 & 3. Refer to this link http://www.hackerspace.my/resources/articles/CONSTITUTION-BM.pdf for specifics. 3) There will be no disruptions of any kind to all scheduled HackerspaceKL activities before, during and after the date of SFD KL. 4) Please be reasonable, we are funding the space with our own money without any outside backing. Disclaimer : HackerspaceKL will not bear responsibility if there are any injuries/etc that occur. The space is used for hardware/electronic hacking so tools may be lying around. Event organizers need to be cautious about this. With that being said, I request that those who are helping swee meng to run SFD KL to come up with the agenda for that day and a list of volunteers to conduct the event.
