Team, I would like to create activities in Universities base on OSS events. We have number of OSS groups in universities that we need to be link up and communicate.
I can do all the communication, linking with Universities Administration and Deans. But what I really need on the people that will go and meet then personally and be with them to organize activities. Local OSS community near to the university. Im a full time working with a company and that my first priority and commitment. And I believe most of you is like me. So we will do like any OSS community will do. We will gotong-royong to do this. Take our turn to organize and working with ICT club in universities. We will adjust and make better our ways of doing this, so more of us can join by taken leave or during weekend. The goal of this activities are to create awareness and interest of our young generation (oppp not all here in this list) to know about Open Source Software. Lets them meet the real people that do and use OSS every day or primary solutions in their work ( Im ok with Mac :) its base on FreeBSD ) This activities should be small event, easy to handle, and need small budget may be token for speakers. Its can be half day or full day depend on availability of students. Its should be done together with ICT club or OSS community in Univerisities and should major handle by them.... Its like Technology update... Syazwan, Linuxvarsiti should be the main event, once a year happen in every Universities. You know the drill ... :) On Sun, Sep 12, 2010 at 2:30 PM, Muhd Syazwan Md Khusaini <[email protected]> wrote: > don't forget Linux Varsiti this 2nd October :) > > On Sun, 2010-09-12 at 08:47 +0800, sweemeng ng wrote: > > Tentatively, this is for this year only, more to come > > Sfdkl, 19-9-2010 > > Ubuntu 10.10 release: 10-10-2010 > > Fedora 14: 2-11-2010 > > Graham Dumpleton wsgitalk(tentative) : october 2010 > > Freebsd essential in hackerspacekl: starting 19-9-2010 > > On Sun, Sep 12, 2010 at 8:39 AM, Harisfazillah Jamel > <[email protected]> wrote: > > Assalamualaikum and Salam sejahtera, > > Can we list of OSS Days (ETA pun OK) that happen for a year, like Open > Source Day, Global Jam, Distro lunch day (ETA), Each of OSS group > anniversary.
