still noob in linux.. i dint know, after change the path. i need 1
command more.
to log in again after editing /etc/profile or anything to that
effect Editing a file will not magically alter my current
environment. Sourcing the file is the quickest way to adapt your current


. /etc/profile  <==== than the path will just like in my profile

but after that.. i still cannot use sql*plus..
i go to ubuntu community. asking how....
than i get a link to https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Oracle10g
i just need to be root and type:

ORACLE_HOME=/usr/lib/oracle/xe/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/server
PATH=$PATH:$ORACLE_HOME/bin
export ORACLE_HOME
export ORACLE_SID=XE

export PATH

than my problem solved :)
