capable of displaying video using rearrangeable electronic ink, being
produced by [1]Philips Research Labs (in the Netherlands). The
paper-display draws power from a lightweight battery, and displays data
stored in a portable chip. The display consists of pixels containing a
drop of colored ink that can spread over a reflective white background
under electrical control to create colors. With fast switching times
and lower switching voltages, these paper-displays are capable of
displaying video images."

Spam And Alston - From Luddite To Pin-Up?

Diebold Audit Released, BlackBoxVoting.Org Shut Down

the Diebold electronic voting system by SAIC, after a report released
by Johns Hopkins University and Rice Researchers (disclaimer: I'm one
of Dr Rubin's students) [1]noted several security issues. A condensed,
from 200 to 40 pages, and censored version of the report has [2]been
released online (PDF link). The report notes that 'SAIC has identified
several high-risk vulnerabilities that, if exploited, could have
significant impact upon the AccuVote-TS voting system operation.'"
However, Diebold says Maryland are [3]moving forward with installation
with "new security features" included, and elsewhere, Badgerman points
out "Diebold [4] has shut down blackboxvoting.org, apparently with
copyright claims made to their ISP. But you can still go to the
[5]blackboxvoting.com site."

served me since engineering school, seems to be giving up the ghost. I
haven't used it in a few years, but recently I put new batteries in it.
It works, but it makes a loud static/white noise sound when it's on.
The noise is not as noticeable when I hold it, but when I set it down
on a hard surface, it's really loud. Then it sucks the batteries down
incredibly fast (I put new batteries in it, and two days later, they
were drained). Any suggestions on what I should buy as a replacement?"

Kazaa Sues Record Labels

of "encrypted" songs that can be handled by CD players but cannot be

disc plays normally (in theory). When put into a computer, the disc
installs software to keep the music secure, but allows you to copy some
or all of the Windows Media tracks to your hard drive. What a shame
