There should be no need for it. Because most required parts are already 
mainline. Currently I'm waiting for the complete conversion from platform to 
device tree for the S3C2440 architecture. If it is done, there should be no 
more need for separate patch stacks.

Yes. These kernels still use the platform implementation.

"git quiltimport" should do the job four you. Easy and handy.

You are free to do so. IIRC there are many repos like this around (more or less 
maintained).
