Checked the website ... v3.1 RC3. Then it cannot be far until the final release. I guess I can wait until the final and change the undo level later. Thanks! :)

Sorry but there is no General in my Preferences. There would be
Workbench->Editors->Text Editor but in that one is nothing
about undo. Using
Eclipse v3.0.2.

Local History looks like a nice feature but most time it's a
bit too much of
effort for just quickly undo (if you still count 25+ steps as
a quick undo
;).

Windows->Preferences->Genereal->Editor->Text Editor and
default is 25 ;)
