i found that it would be easier to just include a small ExpressInstall class on the first frame of your actual movie that would invoke the installer... as long as you keep any code greater than flash 6.0.65 it should be fine and play in that player to start the update.

this way you don't have to worry about keeping extra swf files around, and you don't have to modify your embed to pick betwen 2 swf files.
