That is preferable over ExternalInterface merely because 6 is still a viable 
target for me since AS2 ports to that.

No, it's not on OSFlash, but that's a great idea (I've been doing too
much taking enough giving...).  It's kind of IE specific right now
(client only used IE) but it wouldn't be too much work to build it to
work on modern browsers.  If I get a chance, I'll check out the
Javascript Integration Kit over the weekend and see if I can build
something on top of that.
