Mike, I have to say I am loving Macromedia more and more as time goes
on. I've been on 2 beta cycles for Flash now (Elipsis and 8ball) and
I've loved every minute of it. The interaction between the company and
us mere mortals is totally unique in my experience. It's easy for any
major software company to say "we listen to our users" since no single
user can really verify that claim (and can easily assume that the
company listened to everybody else and not one's self) - but with
Macromedia I've been surprised on so many occasions.

The fact that Macromedia has embraced the OS community is just amazing.
I hope you guys realize how fundamental that is .. it speaks absolute
volumes about the attitude of the company, and gives me great faith in
the future of all Macromedia technologies.

The Flex2/Zorn stuff is just breathtaking. The 5 minute application
Kevin Lynch threw together in that video on your blog just blew me away.
I've dabbled with Flex, so I know how easy it is to throw stuff
together anyway - but Flex2 is (in my opinion) a real Sparkle
competitor. Many people will disagree of course, but the ubiquity of
the Flash Player is second to none - and noone can argue with that!

It should be pretty trivial to port all of this to Linux now that you've
(wisely!) chosen to use Eclipse. Now all that's left is for you guys to
get some /proper/ Linux Flash Player support going ;-)

I'll admit that after seeing the Sparkle demos I was somewhat concerned
for the future of Flash .. but my fears are well and truly gone now.

Rock on Macromedia!! <3 <3 <3
