Hi Mark, >yeah, what if adobe flash cs3 will have a different logo? > > Who cares? We can reappropriate the rune to mean something ourselves :) It could be the "old skool" cool logo or something. I'll hire some marketers. Let's do breakfast. :P
>frankly i don't >know if the f-rune stands for it or for the platform. > I think, going forward, that it should stand for the platform. A rune is quite an abstract thing, after all. >and then tux. >don't get me wrong -- i love tux. > Me too, especially Tux2 :) >i use linux and have a one-metre >high inflatable tux in our kitchen. > Umm, ok -- we won't even ask about that. >it's just that osflash isn't >really a linux thing. one of the great things about the flash platform >is that it is (or at least is supposed to be) OS independent, so >mixing in the logo of one operating system gives me a bit of a strange >feeling, a bit like kidnapping... > > Hah! Do you want your inflatable tux back, it'll cost you... :) Seriously, though, it's more about certain associations than anything else... Tux2, especially in a red suit like Richard's doesn't really look like Tux. It does remind you of it perhaps a bit but that's about it. Otherwise, man, it's wacky, Flash red and sporting some killer runes. >one the other hand, Richard's flux looks so damn cool. if there was a >t-shirt i'd buy it right away (hint: coffee press store to raise funds >for bandwidth, competition prizes, bounties and so on). > Man, me too -- we'd probably end up spending too much ourselves on our OSFlash schwag but yeah -- I definitely see this happening. >so, i don't >really know where i stand. i have above mentioned reservations, but i >really like this particular flux... > > Me too -- I like your Flux, Richard. I hope we can still be friends. Oh man, it's *waaay* past my bedtime! 'Night all! Aral :) _______________________________________________ osflash mailing list [email protected] http://osflash.org/mailman/listinfo/osflash_osflash.org
