Of course Mike, you are right in what you say.  I was not trying to 
weigh an open source compiler project against its legalities based 
solely on it's benefit to the platform.  Rather I was merely trying to 
illustrate that the driving force behind such a project is not that 
different to the projects it was being compared to - legal issues aside.

As far as the Wiki is concerned, the burden of legality should not be 
Aral's responsibility in this case, and so therefore the bytecode 
related documentation has since been removed.
