ahmmm. Well I want to answer that too :) I am doing a version of paper soccer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paper_Soccer) Nothing fancy but as i said before it started as an exercise on mtasc/eclipse and when i got a local version running I started moving it to multiplayer on Oregano.
The rest I subscribe to erixtekila's reply. He did the port to AS2 and it'a an excellent one. After I renamed the Error class to _Error no more problems occured when compiling with mtasc. I just got to the send/cancel/reply challenge in the game's lounge list. My prev post was merely to give him (erixtekila) a hint on what issues I encountered while using mtasc. I am no heavy coffe drinker but yesterday when I was facing the Error class name problem I switched to MM temporarely and I nearly got an overdose :P It's such a shame that MTASC will be dropped. I still think that the main benefit is the speed and the way it makes you really think about coding before you type anything stupid on the next line. Because I am not a trained programmer this really helped me in brushing off the last remains of Flash IDE/AS1 bad habits. I subscribe to the petition for a good hosting on osFlash for oregano. Red5 may be near and teh guys are all wizards but as far as I experienced Oregano, once you get into the manual (very wall written piece of docs) and the API everything works like a charm. No RMTP but I bet that it's still very fast if you design properly. Feature packed and free. I still have some work to put in this game but once is finished I'll brush it up and release it as an OS example for the Oregano AS2 API. It's MVC based and a decent piece of coding. Sure. If others get some changes, post them here or on my blog, I'll merge a new version soon. > I have been meaning to do it myself but have had too many things to > do at work. I think putting them on OSFlash.org might be a nice idea. I've already ask twice for a SVN hosting space to osflash's admins, but they don't seem to be interested in. Red5 alternative should be sufficient for them ?! no clue. BTW, I try to hold the client class sources as sync as possible at this url : http://www.v-i-a.net/download/?Oregano http://www.v-i-a.net/download/?Oregano_doc http://www.v-i-a.net/download/?Oregano_example > > p.s. What is the game you are working on? Anything cool? Secret but near the end… Cheers ----------- erixtekila http://blog.v-i-a.net/ _______________________________________________ osflash mailing list [email protected] http://osflash.org/mailman/listinfo/osflash_osflash.org _______________________________________________ osflash mailing list [email protected] http://osflash.org/mailman/listinfo/osflash_osflash.org
