The standalone player I think you can only get from the authoring environment IDE. That whole thing is here:

After installing, the standalone player is located at: C:\Program Files\Macromedia\Flash 8\Players\SAFlashPlayer.exe
If you dont have access to a windows PC, you can extract the files from the install archive, using various tools. I don't know the names offhand, but I would try all of:
running unzip on the .exe
running unrar on the .exe
look for a program that can extract from cab files
look for a program that can extract from "InstallShield" files
