As we rapidly approach the end of 2005, I just wanted to take a moment
and thank everyone who has contributed to the success of OSFlash in
2005. It's been an amazing year and it doesn't take too much imagination
to see that 2006 is going to be *the year* that open source Flash truly
explodes and reaches beyond the confines of the flash community on to
the radar screens of the greater web developer community.
As part of the explosive growth that OSFlash has seen since its launch
in May, we now have more than 1,000 users on the Wiki alone! A big hello
to our 1000th wiki member, Jens Trebtow :)
Oh, and it was bound to happen: We got our very first wiki spam today
from someone who set up a user account using the name "irenstet". We
also saw our first act of community spam removal, when Emmett Shear, our
newest member (#1091, I might add!) came to the rescue. Thanks Emmett :)
I've seen removed the two accounts created by this irenstet person and
let's hope this will be the last we hear of this talented individual.
I'm flying out to North Cyprus to be with my family for New Year's and
may not have the opportunity to post again before, so, to the whole
community, please accept my best wishes and I hope that you will all
have a wonderful Happy New Year! Here's to a 2006 full of open source
