The Flash Lite player are still in beta process, So long will only support those kind are listed in the store. Maybe about a time ahead you'll find other devices that support 2.0. Just wait some time.
Things are moving.
Meanwhile I don't know about upgrade process and the plans of adobe for that. Maybe you can ask in the support of them. But in personal opinion it will be free of charge for future upgrades as JD said. Adobe doesn't want to support those and millions of clients calling and asking support for installing and upgrade for that. It will be instaled automaticly. "Hope so"

and now it isnt listed for FL2 player download which
seems odd to me. If it can do 1.1 why not 2? We're

I also think that updating from 1.1 to 2 should be
free as I paid for my 1.1 player already..
