use Bullents screen recorder
http://www.thesilver.net/

with framerate 15 or 18 and without video codec (uncompressed video).
No sound with that application, but speed and quality wise very good results.
I chose no compression, because compressing needs a lot of cpu, and that power is needed to keep up with the framerate while capturing.
Later you can compress the video with virtualdub or premiere or ....
Defrag your disk ;)

yeah, why not(, although it's a bit complicated ...)
and then how to handle the sound ?

the SWF toolbox is closer to my needs, although it's a bit buggy, and
the Xmas edition won't work after march 2006.
that's exactly this kind of software I'm looking for.
any other suggestions ?

With export filters mm ide making kind of bitmap screenshoots. My idea
is why not use application that making movie from screens (i tested
opensource demostudio), speed is main problem but for example avi can be
recorded with small flash movie speed and later time scaled up (i used
open virtualdub, if i used little teory about keyframes - scaling is
without quality lost). With this process i can have good lloking movie
with any kind of scripting. One thing - every actions must be frame-based.

hi list

it's been a while since I'm looking for a _free_ software that would
_properly_ (which is : better than Macromedia's .mov and .avi export
function) export flash anims to any video format.
does those kind of stuff exist in the OS world or not ?

I've been trying a couple of commercial products or sharewares which
would do the job, but obviously I would prefer to get something free.

by the way, one told me about a workaround which is to screen capture
the fullscreen anim with some other software, but it looks like the
performances aren't good enough this way, or rather my computer is
just too crappy to do this...

please let me know if you have efficient methods to export (or better:
record) .fla or .swf anims to video.
thanks in advance.
