that's a good point. somewhat related is the issue how it would be
perceived from the outside.
most here have a "traditional" flash background. i'm always glad each
time new users with no prior flash experience appear, especially linux
users, because it means osflash is slowly becoming known among
developers who wouldn't even have considered the platform previously.
i'm hoping gnash will help in that regard, too, once it becomes
usable. imho, it would be good for the platform and for osflash alike
if it would find acceptance in that area, however, official ties to
adobe could give some people a false impression, especially since they
wouldn't know the background. i'd much rather read positive comments
about adobe's openness towards an independent open source movement in
some future /. discussions than weird conspiracy theories by the
trolls.
