Well.. that throws another error on the enlarge line:
java.lang.StringIndexOutOfBoundsException: String index out of range: -1

You are using an old jappo version. That version doesn´t work with the JVM
1.5 (xmldom dependency). The latest version works fine, so i replaced your
version with the new one. Maybe that could be the cause of the problem....
