well flash9 is just going to be the mxmlc the same as eclipse so...

I think that the idea is that it's an easy way to trigger a compile through the Flash IDE.

If you consider this a useful tool, then having the option of using the Flex 2 compiler is a good one.

I'm not sure what the point would be, as the flex 2 beta compiler does not
compile FLAs. If you aren't going to use FLAs, what's the point of using the
Flash IDE? There are other much better actionscript editors out there.
