Yes, I can help. Sorry for the late reply but I just got back from FITC and am trying to catch up with the emails. Basically Red 0.4 requires Java 5 (or Java 1.5) in order to compile and run. Try upgrading your JDK and setting you $JAVA_HOME to 1.5 and it should work for you.
