You mention that ActionStep is missing one important part of ARP, event dispatching. But we do have event dispatching! It goes under the name of "notifications" (NSNotification and NSNotificationCenter). I have actually written an ARP implementation using ActionStep, and views are linked to the controller through a "system event" notification. It is less verbose than the ARP controller tends to be, since our notification center is far more powerful than MM's event dispatcher. If you're interested in seeing the code, I'd be happy to send it over.
