Yes, this is starting to get really frustrating; I really wish people would stop developing for Flash 8! And my enthusiasm for promoting flash to clients is waning: "And another great advantage is that it is cross-platform, ... er, ... well, it used to be ...". Reading between the lines of John Dowell's posts, and allowing for the inevitable delays, Adobe won't be giving us a linux player within this year. If they'd only release the player as open source the clever people on this list would probably have one working in 4 weeks, and the annoying memory leak bugs would be gone the week after :-).
