What a lovely bike-shed topic, and probably off-topic to boot: can I join in? :-). I think "multi-platform" is used exclusively in marketing materials (whether big evil corporation products, or small open source projects), and common usage is to mean two or more. In fact most common usage is probably to mean "windows and mac".
