| so using a preloader fixes it?
i've heard of one other person having this problem (i think on the SWFObject mailing list) - and i think they fixed it by just waiting a frame before trying to access the flashvars.
not sure why this happens, since the flashvars are passed in the html when it writes it to the page... so it's probably some bug in the way the browser handles plugins that are written to the page using _javascript_/innerhtml

You notice some of the problems I state before? I think the problem is derived from having several individual SWFs loading data via flashvars in one html. But as it's a very strange problem that happens from time to time I can't assert what is causing it.
