If you have a firewall running, you might need to open those ports up or shut it down for testing purposes, or run your apps locally.
If running locally, make sure you connect using "rtmp://localhost/..."
Definitly get signed up for the Red5 mailing list and post further questions. Everyone is usually very prompt in their responses ;)
