I had a problem using FDT in Eclipse on files made in the Flash IDE. Turned out it was FDT’s fault though – the latest test version (and possibly the released version – I haven’t checked) is fine.

yes, but I often have to work with files that where created in Flash.

Yes I have noticed this too. But you don't need Flash IDE to make .as
file. Since you're on OSX you can use XCode or Eclipse.
