I've been pretty heavily involved with E-Learning from a standards perspective for the last 3 years (SCORM, primarily).

I WOULD LOVE to be involved.  The framework you describe, Cristophe, is pretty common among what I've seen emerging in the industry over the past four years.  But to actually formalize an engine into an actual Open Sourced model -- now that's something worth working towards.

Making E-learning easier for everyone means more people get access to online education.  If you'd like my help, I'm so in.
