Hey Man, back to this topic again. ;-) One of my coworkers just gave
me a hint about how to  possibly accomplish this  I'm going to try
some stuff today and let you know how it goes. Basically the plan is
to simply use open nameOfFile.swf. The OS should be able to know that
the SWF should be opened by Flash Player due to the SWF extension. I
will let you know how it goes.

And so I don't totally steal this thread... I totally recommend using
Eclipse with FDT. You get all the features that Flash develop has plus
a few more, like simple refactoring and automatic importing. Plus
integration with SVN, CVS, Perforce or VSS are all readily available
through Eclipse plugins. Other editors like Oxygen for XML editing are
really great too, and work seamlessly within the Eclipse environment.
It doesn't do AS3 though. Hopefully those powerflasher guys come out
with a release that does soon.

Another reason to choose Eclipse is that Flex Builder is built on it,
and you will already have a head start on using Eclipse if you ever
need to do some Flex programming.
