I think wiki syntax suck too

I'm not against a flash wiki but there are open source wysywyg html editors
out there.... and also cross platform with many features

Check tinyMCE. nice one...
They are building safari support in there at the moment...

Just some info that's all

Everything you said, Martin, can be done in Flash. Maybe not easily at 
the beginning, but with effort it's achievable. So, there is only one 
point remaining (despite performance - not so important - and plugin 
adoption). Why making it on Flash, if it's doable in HTML? Well... i 
hate wiki sintax. I would prefer to edit my text like i do on Microsoft 
Word, setting bolds, italics, links, etc on real time, seeing the final 
result immediately. Rich text features on the fly. I would like to add 
images easily, drag them, resize them, crop them, etc.
And like this, there are other features lacking on current available 
wiki systems.
