| Hey dudes and dudettes, On the way back from Austin (had a great time, nice to see some of you again as usual) I worked on updating swfobject to support AS3 projects that use Express Install. I'm also using this update as an excuse to update the version number to *shiny!* 2.0 since i'm making a small change to the API for the new express install functionality. Now it uses a separate swf for the ExpressInstall stuff, and just inserts that swf in place of your swf if the user needs to be updated. Anyway, I'd like it a lot if some of you could help me test it out - try downgrading your player and then visiting the test site here: View source there to see the new syntax for the express install - now instead of adding that 'true' argument and editing your fla, all you have to do is dump the expressinstall.swf on your server somewhere, and use so.useExpressInstall(<path_to_expressinstall.swf>); sounds easy, right? it is! Also: If anyone has new feature requests for this next version, now is the time to get them out there, so if there is one killer feature that you would like to add in, let me know what it is and i'll see if it's cool enough to make it in the next build :) If you want to see the updated version, you can see it here: |
