I'm the author of project "MXML editor" and really stopped the project 3 months ago, due to I had to earn some money to live.
But The project is also in 70% of done, it's written in C++ also, I started in Java as an eclipse Plug-in, but overall my java view isnt' quite good.
So I decided to stop the project and start doing again in C++, just working on it at my weekends, and I say "dudde it's completly terrible coding in such C++, never programmed since I left from University.
So, John, you project rocks buddy, I also did an implementation of compling, and it's done in Flex plus Screenweaver with some .bat files, we can mixes the code and start doing some good pice of cake. What you think?
here's the link at my blog http://www.igorcosta.com/blog/?p=77 it's in portuguese, but my planing it's doing in more languages.
So, buddy, we could also start working in this project "at my weekend" and we could also implemeting it.
Add me at Gtalk: [EMAIL PROTECTED] also added you at wallop last sunday.
Buddy's at OSFlash.org this MXML Editor as regular name, given by Aral Balkan "TOMI" it will happen I promisse.
John, call me at gtalk if you want to join forces.
Regards to all.

How cool is this!? Having this as a part of FlashDevelop (or any other OS as3/mxml environment) will be HUGE for flex adoption IMO.
Good skills John! I'll be happy to offer some help where I can. I don't contribute as much as i'd like to here but I am glad I keep tabs on it when people come up with tools like this.

Starting by registering a domain with YOUR app name, that happen to me when my application was already about a year or so as project at sourceForge and was explicitly visible by searching in the google search page.
Fair enough ;)On 10/23/06, John Grden < [EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:Yeah good point, I agree - that's frustrating. I see it both ways. I like to be able to try something, not just read about it.
on the other hand, if you have branding going already and a name picked out, then it might become important to secure that. Now, I wouldn't do it if I didn't actually have something written / done. I think in that case, you'd be right - you'd have some hopes out there, but nada to download. It's kind of a gray area there. When should you reserve a name?
Tell you what, I'm into putting my money where my mouth is: I'll post what I have and let people know its SO alpha, that it hurts. BUt I think at this point it'd be great to get people's input on where i've take it. I'll also record a short video on usage and known issues.
Fair enough?
I've already been talking to someone about separating out the designer portion to be used as a panel in applications like FlashDevelop. But that's a ways away ;)
Look for the post tomorrow. I'll clean stuff up tonight and make it available (including source obviously) tomorrow. Anyone wanting to join the team and help out is more than welcome to submit some code changes and then I'll add you to the team ;)On 10/23/06, Tiago Vale < [EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:Hi John,
I did saw your project too, did not mention cause its kinda recent. (Is it a eclipse plugin?)
What I'm contesting is that it seems that some guys are using OSFlash almost like patent registration site without publishing at all.
I only opened my account at sourceForge in the day that I had something to publish.
Behaving like this will lead to tons of useless links about redundant ideas. On 10/23/06, John Grden <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:if i wouldn't be married i'd say i luv you, but you only make such mistakes once :-)_______________________________________________
