Hi! It must not be developed in Java! Java2d isn't fast enough to develop a flash clone. In my opinion C++ with QT4 is the best option. And multiplatform.

Is that a thesis project or a personal intiative? Because it´s a BIG project.

good luck!

Greetings community:
I am a student of software engineering and along with one of my
friends we have thought a project to develop an IDE that allows us to do swf in Linux with graphical enviroment but we have a great dilemma and is the language that we will use for he himself because he is expert in
java and I in C++ so I would like to request his opinion to him on as
serious the best variant, because I have understood that many of the
programs of Adobe are developed on C++ but many of which I have
found in the site of osflash are on java.
Thanks.
