Hi Dan, The project seems really interesting, but i'm busy like hell! (Which is of course a good ting...)
I had just a thought about the project.... With a few modifications it could be an excellent candidate for a universal Asset manager for a backend of a multimedia website. People could upload/preview and select files with it for the use in different parts of their website. There are of course many open source file managers for websites out there, but something like this one would rule them all :). Anyways, realising now I'm not giving the answers you were hoping for. Sorry for that :) Good luck, Arnoud -----Oorspronkelijk bericht----- Van: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Namens Dan Shryock Verzonden: vrijdag 15 december 2006 23:58 Aan: Open Source Flash Mailing List Onderwerp: [osflash] Help with sound playback issues I am currently writing a media player application, I am using a flex 2 based user interface, and I was hoping to get some assistance / feedback from the community. The application is called Mazaru, and It is designed so that it can be run from multiple platforms (windows, linux, and osx) as a normal application for organizing and playing media files similar to iTunes (currently mp3, flv, jpg, and png are supported). But because it uses flash for the interface, and http over localhost for communication, it can also be used remotely for almost full functionality for organizing, adding files, and playback as well. At the moment I am having difficulties with playback on some of the mp3's that I am loading. They are being loaded over http, but some of them are stopping playback before the song has completed playing. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with similar issues and what the causes could be? Any help on this issue would be very greatly appreciated (if you need any more details please ask). Another question I have is this: is there anybody in the community interested in this type of project, and willing to help me work on the user interface? I have enough experience in flash that I am getting by, but if there was someone willing to work with me on this, I think that it could rapidly evolve into a much more usable application. I am currently hosting it as a sourceforge project (http://sourceforge.net/projects/mazaru), but the version available for download is old and under a different name than the one I am currently using. The version on sourceforge still exhibits the same audio playback issues, but it doesn't run on linux or osx. Sorry for the lengthy email, but any help or feedback would be greatly appreciated.
