Hi Alexander, I'm currently fetching the sources of red5 minimal to have a look at it. Did you know about haXeVideo (http://haxevideo.org) before starting the project ? It's still in beta but after a few fixes it should be very usable. And it's actually pretty small (less than 30KB of haXe sources).
