Just to vent my excitement and report some progress: I had registered
for the FDT 3.0 closed beta and received an email tonight I can download it!
So development is progressing and the final release is getting nearer,
eventhough there's no new details on that as far as I know.

PS: I know it's not Open Source, but I also know many people on this
list are looking forward to more news about FDT :)
