What is SonomaSunshine?
An experiment in creating/editing Flash with Django and the MXMLC
compiler. The goal is to create a program that allows you to easily
generate a cartoonish/Mardi Graish/Alice in Wonderlandish sort of site. For
lack of better terminology, I call SonomaSunshine "The Redneck Rivieras Best
Python Powered Folk Art Server"

Why did I roll my own?
I love Python. However, Python is mostly an HTML shop. I saw with
TurboGears and the MXMLC compiler it was easy to short circuit the HTML
outputs and output AS3 to the compiler. Presto, you were creating/editing
Flash movies in a browser. So, I rolled my own.

It's an experiment, not an effort to produce a new web framework. The code
is out there, I'd be happy to answer questions, and maybe some snippet is
useful to someone somewhere. Ask for latest version of the code. It
doesn't follow a specific design. It's developed organically. If I need a
feature, I add it. If somethings broke, I fix it. If I find myself
repreating something, I automate it. Perhaps some is useful, perhaps not.

If someone was doing similar work I'd be interested in contributing to a
project. I am a gardener by trade, and not a professional coder, but I am
handy with Python and getting better at ActionScript 3.
