Hi. I'm sure you probably already know, Adobe has announced a full H.264 support in Flash Player today. Beta can be downloaded here, as usual: http://labs.adobe.com/
Adobe plans to add full support to FMS as well ( http://labs.adobe.com/wiki/index.php/Flash_Player:9:Update:H.264) later this year: *Q: Will the Adobe Flash Media Server support H.264 content? * *A:* Yes, the next version of Flash Media Server will support streaming of H.264 content and HE-AAC content - both live and on demand. More details on this will be released later in the year. Having the H.264 already implemented as open-source x264, any idea if it would be possible to implement H.264 in Red5? This would solve the current problem of being limited to older H.263 because of proprietary VP6 codec, and allow Red5 stream HD video. I think this has the potential to introduce Red5 as a strong contender to the media streaming field, with the potential of 98% installed clients - number other platforms could never achieve. Regards, Stas.
