It didn't either for me at first.  Then (with FireBug open, and the
console showing) I reloaded the page, and the following showed...

Firebug v1.05 enabled.
thunderbolt.swf?version=0.34 [frame 1] @ 09:13:09
Sample.init description=Sample::init[29] : object @ 09:13:09 : Object

...then all the buttons and remaining tests/etc worked.

Might give that a try.  I also have the Webdeveloper extension
installed, with the "Disable Cache" option always on (didn't have to
mess with it, but perhaps it is related to the reloading and it then
working).

well i can not say any more, cause it just didn't do anything. and with 
'do' i mean it doesn't put anything into firebugs console for me.
