HI, if you still need help,
I have recently finished ActionScript 3.0 video player for a client.

You can seek NetStream on every move of slider button (in handler
regeistered to slider move)
so it will update while seeking.
I have developed my light component slider, but if you are using Flash
built-in Slider component, you should set liveDragging on true, to dispatch
events on every move, not just when released.

The one developed by me is working well, regarded what you are talking
about.

For precise questions, write me on my mail directly
or here on list if you think it would help others.
