Thanks Christofer for bringing that up, as I'm in the same situation! So, if noone minds, I'll jump in the thread to see whether I'm taking the right path. I can start a new thread if you don't want me to pollute yours :)

I'm developing web games, pure HTML + server-side langage (PHP, Ruby on Rails, ...) up until now, but I'm starting to wonder if I can really go without Flash to get something that really feels interactive. Javascript and Ajax can do some client-side magic but I want to see what Flash has to offer. I'm not going towards mini-games, rather big game system with lots of classes and code behind, and I still wonder if Flash is not better suited for mini-games. But I guess that puts it somewhere between interactive animation and full application. > What's your own background? Are you a graphic designer, a developer? Developer. Quite concerned with web standards, so I always had something against Flash (poor accessibility, poor SEO), but I may be starting to change my mind. I discovered OSFlash some days ago and followed the nice tutorial at http://osflash.org/projectsetup I was able to compile my Application.as file in classes.swf using MTASC, and to get the final app.swf using Swfmill (yay!) But the result is not perfect: I do see the image set in the Swfmill XML input, but not the text set in the AS code... I downloaded the full project at the end of the tutorial, where app.swf was compiled by the author, and I have the same problem - is that my Flash player being dense? And, apart from this small problem, am I starting the right way? Are there other useful ressources to look at? I was planning to go on with http://swfmill.org/doc/using-swfmill.html which has some timeline info, but I will still need something about interaction. I also don't know whether I can keep working with only MTASC + Swfmill, as I'm not an Eclipse fan so the full FLAMES doesn't appeal to me yet.
