Hello Everyone, I was wondering, from an implementation standpoint, does anyone know the difference between AS2 XMLSockets, AS3 XMLSockets, and AS3 Sockets.
It's my understanding that in the network world there is only 1 type of socket, but the flash VM layer has made this designation, and hypothetically you could create an AS3 XMLSocket out of the AS3 Socket class. I was wondering if any one knew if one type was more stable than the other. Do XMLSockets have tighter data checks? Do they do resends? I know resends are managed in the TCP/IP layer but I was wondering if they are also managed in the Flash Player layer and if so do these 2 socket types have a different levels of scrutiny to trigger the resend. My question is targeted to anyone who has "under the hood" information. Also isn't the source for this stuff out there some where as a part of the Tamarin project. Where can I download that?
