I dont know.. We invested some minimal time to write some proper logging and now can define where to log to (multiples even) like 'trace', firebug, Arthropod, custom swf, remote server etc.. Or combinations. Extending goes quick, we even use it for statistics tracking and you also can just turn it on/off through flashvars (or what ever).. I think its next to real debugging the only way to go.
