Hi, when it comes to AS3, I'd suggested using a third argument of the
addEventListener method:

useCapture:Boolean<http://help.adobe.com/ru_RU/AS3LCR/Flash_10.0/Boolean.html>(default
=
false).

If you set it to true when adding event listener to your nested MovieClip,
no more funkiness will bother you while listening to the event. The event
itself will bubble from the bottom to the up, from the nested creature to
its beloved parent movie clip.
