Hi there,

Just wanted to let you know that I've just uploaded a new HippoHX release.

For those of you that don't know about it, HippoHX is an Open Source
tool for creating Flash desktop apps and it's based on SWHX . It
provides AS2, AS3 and haXe APIs for common tasks such as file
management, accessing system information, window properties, etc.

New in version 0.5:

- haXeVideo integration. You can start haxeVideo from your app and
record audio and video out of box. I think that this is pretty cool,
for example for e-learning apps running off a CD without internet
connection and still allow users to record themselves. As usual kudos
to Nicolas for his awesome work.
- General help file available. Documenting sucks, so I hope it is useful.
- Ton of GUI improvements.
- Minor bug fixes and improvements to the API.
- Updated to haXe 2.0.2, Neko 1.8 and Systools 0.0.16

You can find more information on the website and the wiki:

This is the first version I feel it's ready for developers outside the
haXe world and that's why I've cc'ed OSFlash. I think we still have to
fix some pretty basic stuff before going to the general public (aka
FlashCoders) or be used in production, but we are getting there.

Haven't decided yet what's going to be the focus for the next release
but SQLite support and distribution through haXe lib are ranking high.

Ideas, comments, patches and feedback more than welcome : )

Cheers,

Juan
